Selena Gomez

Eyo!
So like, I absolutely LOVE selena gomez's amazing songs. Just heard "Hit the Lights." It's a beautiful pop song about taking chances and I sooo wish i could write songs like that. It's one of those songs that you wish was yours, or you get all tingly when you listen too, or think about it as a role model. Yeah. I love it. My top favorite lyrics are also "who says" by her too. Very inspiring, very sweet and short. "I love you like a love song Baby" wasn't my favorite though. It seemed a bit too "disney needs a cool sounding song" I loved her video though, it was really unique and pretty, visually fun. Selena is one of those girls who just got it easy. Pretty, thin, great actress, great singer, got JB as boyfriend. Yep, that's pretty much it. Have a wonderful christmas season and don't stop songwriting.

Wish I had a Boyfriend (or girlfriend)

Great song title huh? Really hits the nail on the head! Come on, if you don't have a boyfriend/girlfriend, I bet you wish you did. (Of course, not me!) This is an awesome way to adapt to Taylor Swifts style. A friend of mine recently told me how she kinda writes it as if she was writing a journal. Well, there you go. The big secret to songwriting is acting like you're not dying to find a killer hit. If you do have a journal/diary, look in there for all those times that looked like such big deals then, and turn them into great, and easily related to songs. Real life, it's the bomb diggity for songs. Just don't focus on big downers, like economy or crime.
P.S. If your boyfriend/girlfriend dumped you, hey, you just got hit with the best theme for a song eva!

Google Translate

OMG. Want to abolish boredom for at least ten minutes? Go on translate. Google.com. Type in anything, press listen button, and kapow! You'll have someone saying it for you. It sounds lame, but it's really fun. I know what your thinking, "How in the world does this relate to songwriting?" Well, I have thought up a reason. Some hip artists are switching the language of their songs to Spanish or Japanese. With Google Translate, you can so change your lyrics to a hip language.
P.S. For fun, type in "MMMMMMEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWW" And no, I'm not kidding, please type it in.

Happy Independence Day!

Hey everybody! I hope you're having a wonderful fourth of July! For a fun activity, look up the lyrics for patriotic songs about America! (Such as "Uh-merica by Regina Specktor) Also, today could spark up some inspiration for your own patriotic lyrics, so try it out! You don't have to be so "honor country," you could spice it up with some country song vibes like Sugarland! Don't be afraid to be unique!

My absolute favorite songwriter

Before I go on anymore in this blog, I feel I should tell you who is my idol in songwriting. Adam Young. He is the  most creative, original, and poetic songwriter I have ever heard. He has beautifully written lyrics that always mesmerize my mind to such amazing stories and thoughts. He has captured an inner creativity that most of us haven't found yet. I wish I could be like him so much. I look up to him in songwriting. If you aren't a regular listener to him, please, you have to be! I don't know who could hate him, aside from "Fireflies" playing to way to much. <3

Cosmic Love Review

Hey ya'll my friend Addlyn (Addilini) is hanging out here at my house in between performances for our play, How To Eat Like A Child and I was telling her about my blog so I asked her what her favorite song was (lyric wise) and she answered with, "Cosmic Love" by Florence And The Machine. The song is interestingly written, giving an outer-space vibe to a love song. Not much written lyric or verses is involved, since the chorus itself is repeated four times throughout the song. MY minimum in chorus involvement is three times peroid. The song can easily relate to any love stricken person, but a little sadness is due since the "stars and the moon blew out." Overall the song is beautiful, smart, and easily sung by the Florence fan. I commend Addlyn for picking such a rare love song, not taking part in the usual, "Just wanna have fun" or "I wish you were mine" songs.
Bye Ya'll! :-)

New Song! (Adam Young style)

Came up with this cheesy and short song while sitting through a tech day, don't have all the lyrics right now since they are on a friends computer, but I have some short samples.

Summer Sparkly Heat

Curled around your lollipop
is the wrapper who sings the song
that the birds chirp in the summer

I wish I could hear you sing right now
but I'm stuck on a summer cloud
that rains on your marvelous melody
wipe away your perspiration cause lighting strikes imagination
the thunder can't chase our love away

That's all I have for now, but prepare for an update soon! Feel free to edit it in your comments!

An unknown love of music

Did you know that Sherlock Holmes adored music in the well loved novels by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. I decided to pick up the book yesterday and learn some classic literature, and reading it, I found Sherlock expressing his love of music by quoting Darwin, "The power of producing and appreciating music existed among the human race long before the power of speech was arrived." Great authors are great authors because their inspiration comes from music. Leave it to Sherlock Holmes to spread it around! <3

A.J. Rafael, a young new artist

Today at my camp, we played the bouncy and light song "We could happen" by A.J. Rafael, a young new artist who is making some very new and fresh songs, but some of the bouncy rhythms take you back to "Hey Soul Sister." He is smart and meaningful when it comes to his lyrics, I encourage you to check up his song lyrics and read them. He has less poetic words and more blunt ideas. I prefer blunt to be put into fun songs like his, but blunt doesn't work well with slow or soft rock. A little poetry will make it fit much more into the theme. Anyways, I hope you enjoy his cute songs, and keep song writing ya'll!

Happy?

Hey, I was just thinking, why aren't some songs happy? I think most songs are about staying cool, depressed, determined to be his boyfriend, heartbroken, and desperate. If anyone can give a happy lyric that's catchy and has rhythm, we would so be in business. In our modern economy, why bring more sadness? Have a happy night! :-)
p.s. I have camp tomorrow, so be prepared for a recap on tomorrows happenings. Luv ya'll!

Hey Ya'll! Welcome to my new blog!

Hey Ya'll! I am so glad you came to my site! I originally came up with this idea because I was looking for tips on how to write songs, but no available site around would be good enough to actually inspire or help. So I thought,
"Why not create a blog myself?" I love to song write, and it would be a great way to share my thoughts and inspirations! I am hoping to have some co-authors join me, so please enjoy!
